Presentation Title: Transportation Transformation: New Digital Urban Mobility and Value Creation

Abstract: Urban mobility is facing several challenges. Some are the result of long-term urbanization trends, and others are the outcome of more recent changes to population behaviors. Addressing these challenges requires systems thinking and collaboration between cities, automakers, and mobility services companies. Before this can be achieved, each of these constituencies will need to transform. The transformations they undertake will determine their roles in the new urban mobility and enable data-driven and AI-based decision-making. These transformations will also lead to the emergence of new value chains. Novel forms of value will be realized through innovative business models. The talk presents the decisions cities, automakers, and mobility services companies must make, and the technology and business model transformations they will need to execute. It also analyzes the value chains that will emerge and the risks that will arise from the use of data and AI in new urban mobility.
